Vintage San Francisco Map
A map I bought today to add to my collection
A day of Muni, according to NextBus, by Eric Fischer
I could sleep through a plane landing on the roof of my hotel, but I imagine this noise map of San Francisco would be a great tool for the more easily disturbed. Think of it as a guide to where to book accommodation if you like to awake on your terms rather than the terms of some DJ who decided to turn up the bass at the club down the street.
Decent hotel options in the quieter areas of San Francisco are somewhat limited, but one good bet is the Laurel Inn. The Laurel sits within the Pacific Heights neighborhood— an area that manages to be quiet without being sleepy. It’s five blocks from a 1,491 acre national park and no more than a few miles from the city’s more touristy attractions. Oyster considers it not just one of the best value hotels in San Francisco, but one of the best hotels period. Here’s the kicker: they have free cookies and lemonade every day in the lobby.
